hey i was wondering if these parts are any good for server and im trying to save money by not getting normal server parts with dual sockets and that.

Case - Cooler Master Elite 335U ATX Midi Tower
video card is my old GT440 to save money

That CPU seems like serious overkill for a server, but the alternatives are not really any cheaper. An optical drive is not really needed and will just hog space in a server. Hook an old one up for the OS installation and be done with it or use a USB flash drive. The less clutter the better the air flow.
the server is going to used for games servers now and then, storage and the optical drive is for those time when something like driver installers or a software disc is needed (very rare)
