So I posted a short thread last week about my new XFX r7 260x not working, and after seven or eight hours of testing I came to the conclusion together with XFX's support that it didn't work. I RMA:ed it, and thought that it would be the end of the problem. The store said that it did work though and now it's on its way back. I just don't know what the problem could be then, it doesnt seem like there is any hardware issues because my old card is working fine, and im not an expert at like drivers and bios and stuff so I don't really know what do do to be honest.
So, anyone has any ideas of what I've done wrong or what could be wrong in general?
I'm afraid that is my only option except cancelling the purchase wich i want to avoid, and the last day I can do that is Friday.
have you checked your monitor? have you tried using another PCI express lane? can you start up in safemode? can you then use DDUI(display driver uninstaller) to wipe your video drivers then reboot and install new drivers? is your graphics card correctly connected? like fully seated in the pci express land and connected to the proper power PCI-express power connectors? have you tried using a different DVI cable to your monitor? is the power to your monitor working?
well i know my monitor works, i know that. I could try plugging it in to my TV and check.
I don't have another PCI-E 16x lane, and my other graphics card works so its not that.
I have connected it properly, both with power and in the lane.
I could try som fancy driver trix and other stuff, though I already have tried without and for some reason with drivers. My believe is that it is something software related, though it is a bit weird that it doesn't give any signal at all.
Solved it, my cousin had done something with the bios, but i reseted it and now it works.
probably set the main display to PCI instead of onboard? vga? that's my guess.
