Sennheiser hd 518, 429 and Superlux 668B comparison

So, I've been thinking bout getting the HD 518, however they are a bit more expensive. In amazon they are pretty cheap right now, but I can't order them from there, because of the shipping costs. They cost around 100 euros here. Superlux is like 30-35 euros. I also added the HD 429 here, because I have them right now and I want to know if Superlux 668B is better. So, is there a big difference between HD 518 and 668B ? I'm ready to pay 100 euros for HD 518, but ofc if 668B is not far away, I'd consider them aswell.

Btw, forgot to mention. Im looking for a headphones that are mostly for gaming, but also some music, movies etc.

I have the 429s and they are alright for music but I would not get them for gaming unless you have a noisy area where you play games.  I would go with the 518s or AKG 240s they should both be about $70-80 on amazon.

K240 are open headphones, right? Price looks pretty nice to me, usually headphones are more expensive at my country, however these actually have a good price. Anyways, 518s nd AKG 240s are around same quality then?

Pretty much everything in this price range won't differentiate much in fidelity. I know you said you'd like these for gaming, but that's still a little vague. Do you like "accurate" sound, high bass, or what? The 668Bs are some of the best cans you can get in the range, but they're slightly warm and very high heavy until you burn them in.

Well,  I'm really looking for headphones with good positional audio, so while gaming, I'd hear footsteps etc. I'd like to have a balanced bass, so not too high not too low. btw, what do you mean by burning them in?

Burning in is just a sort of term used for cans. Once you get them, it's not a bad idea to let them run for a while to let them "burn in" as people say. Some claim it's a myth, some religiously believe in it. As someone who's owned a lot of cans, I can tell you that when I owned my 668Bs they were very sharp and almost painful with their highs, but after a long while they sort of smoothed out. You could say that's me adjusting to them, but I've owned, and still own, plenty of other cans.

The 668Bs would do pretty decently with positional audio, and I don't think you'd have much trouble with footsteps or anything like that. Their bass exists, but it won't reach deep down into sub-bass (which you won't hear often anyways)

Aight, so you think they are close to HD 518? And how about the comfort. I heard some saying that they are not that comfortable for longer periods of wearing?

I've personally heard the 518s are underwhelming. I've never liked the low-end of Senns spectrum, but I haven't used the 518s so take my word with a grain of salt. I can echo what someone else said and mention the AKG 240s, but whether or not you get those or the 668Bs is really all up to price. You won't make a bad decision between the two.

I personally have a pretty average sized head, and while the 668Bs weren't uncomfortable to hurting my head or anything, I did take them off every now and then because of their padding. This is after hours and hours of use, mind you.

Alright, so I quess I'll go for the 668Bs then. I bet they will feel great with some velour pads. ty for your advice.
