Sending Texts and calls to my PC

I am looking for a way to automatically send and receive texts and calls through my computer through my phone when I am at home. I would prefer if at all possible to not have to be running something in the background of the devices and I would like to continue using my current texting app (Textra). Any Ideas on how to do this? Thanks!

I don't think there is a complete solution. but for texting you can use Pushbullet. It will run in the background but you can send texts from your PC and it will tell you you are getting calls on your PC but I have not tried answering them with the headset, bu that probably wont work.

But yeah Pushbullet is as close as I can think of right now.

i concur with Zibob. Pushbullet is an option. But here's a more wholesome approach

Combine Tasker app (root needed) with Autonotifications app + AutoRemote app

which enables you to customize a your notifications, pebble integration included

This looks interesting but I dont have my phone rooted. Is it possible to root a galaxy s4 (AT&T). Could you post some possible steps.

You just need an iPhone and a mac...

I use Airdroid.com, it sends texts, and app & incoming call alerts straight to my PC. It syncs over WiFi or data which makes it convenient when you don't need to have your phone out, but still want to use it.

Nice one. I have not got into tasked yet. I will give it a try when lollipop hits my phone, start fresh and try some new things.

There's also http://mightytext.net/ .... It works great for messages and it INFORMS you of incoming calls as well as doing other things. As mentioned above though, there really is no complete overall solution.
