Hello everyone. Seeing as everyone and their uncle has a post in this section, I figured it was my turn.
I have recently put together a system based on the FX 8350 - http://ca.pcpartpicker.com/user/Dr.Strangelove/saved/2Cwg
I think its a decent build, runs great for what I am into; I work with after effects as a business, not too much gaming. I mostly play CS:GO / Source, Dwarf Fortress, but i do want to play BF4 since I just got rid of my ps3. [Also MGS5, if it comes to PC(rumored)]
If you look at the link I posted, you will notice that there is no GPU.. Well, I kinda ran out of funds. Right now I have an ATI Radeon HD 5450 from my old machine; it was an off the shelf Gateway computer I bought on 2010. Its brutal, the fan is starting to go and is making an awful rattle sound non stop. I need to get that thing out of there!
So, I have some cash coming in from a recent AE project and I am looking for recommendations on what GPU I should go for. I was looking at the new AMD cards possibly. My budget will be around $250 - $350, keep in mind I am in Canada. I really like ASUS cards, but if there are cards that stack up I am flexible. I mostly want something that can stay cool and quiet (who doesnt?) and can help me in AE.
Thanks eveyone!
is 500 Watts enough? should I jump to 750?
500W is more than enough for a single 280X.
thanks, I think I will go for the asus 280X.
Here is a necro post for ya; So, if you read the OP, I was looking forward to buying the MSI R9 280X. But, I am sure you know, they are near impossible to get. I was thinking of getting a GTX 760 in its place.
I am not a super heavy gamer, I play CS:GO alot, and would like to get Battlefield4 but I am sure that either card will preform well. This card is mostly for a home render machine for After Effects, looking into belnder or cinema4D for the future.
I am looking at the MSI N760 TF 4GD5/OC, its $320 in Canada right now, only about 40 bones more. Im really looking for thoughts from people who know rendering.
My current Specs: AMD Fx 8350 (oc4.3 ghz)
ASUS M5A99X EVO r2.0
Coolermaster 212 EVO
16GB Corsair XMS3 1600mhz
ATI Radeon 5450 - Broken fan, jury rig replacement!!! Ughh!!!
1Tb Seagate Antec One
case 500W Thermaltake - 80+ bronze
Thanks, yo!
Well honnestly there is not realy a point if getting a GTX760 4GB version, because the GTX760 isn´t powerfull enough to utilize that amount of vram anyway, so its a bit of a waste on that point, for rendering editing and stuf a GTX670 would be better because that card has more cuda cores, but i would say take a look at a GTX770. if you can afford that.
