So my Steelseries Rival finally died after being dropped from a moving car. (Long story.)
I loved that mouse so much. </3
Anyway, you guys have any recommendations for similar mice? I've heard Mionix has nice stuff. I don't need six million buttons or a tactical rail or an onboard dildo or any stupid shit like that, but I like having two side buttons.
Should I just get the Rival 300? It looks pretty cool.
Side note, anybody have the MX800 keyboard? After Roosters review, I think I want to upgrade from my Apex. (Yeah, rubber dome, sue me. This keyboard is super.)
My mouse before this was a five or so year old Logitech mouse I got at Walmart, and I loved it too.
But I can't get over the way the Proteus looks. I'm sure it's a great mouse, but it looks awful. I'm a whiny bitch with the aesthetics of my hardware, I'm sorry.
I whole heartedly recommend the Logitech Anywhere MX.
I don't game, but I work everywhere.
This wireless mouse works just fine when your mouse surface is pretty much anything, even a sheet of glass.
I have like 8 of these bluetooth mice because they are so incredible - one for each of my laptops and desktops, plus a spare or two in case Logitech decides to EOL them.
I've been a dedicated Logitech fan for since 2007. those mice are durable as hell. I've never heard of anyone complain about a Logitech mouse in all honesty. I've had this one since 2009. and it still works. best $20 dollars I've ever spent.
Mionix mice have been the best I've used in my professional career (I play competitive games). Well built, very comfortable using the best sensors on the market. they certainly are looking to prove something, reminds me of old school Razer when they made way above bar products (for the time) but much better in the quality control department.
Logitech and Roccat would be my second choices with me passing on Steelseries (durability issues), Razer due to Q/A and software plus tendency to use some of the less than quality sensors lately. I've used Zowie and while fine they are kinda cheaply made, i question their long life same with FinalMouse.
I got the Zowie FK1 about 6-7 months ago-- it's the best mouse I've ever used. I went through a bunch of mouses before getting this one (including the Razer DeathAdder, which crapped out on me 3 times, and the SteelSeries Sensei).
Basic as it comes as far as features go (standard buttons + two side buttons, DPI switch under the mouse). That's what I like personally. As you so eloquently put it in your OP, "I don't need six million buttons or a tactical rail or an onboard dildo ". The big thing for me though is the sensor-- it's amazing, the best I've had in a mouse so far.
Once this dies (if it does) I'll be going with a Mionix Naos. I wish Mionix made something like the Orbweaver, I really don't want to bother with Razer's QC & software.
I've had the Logitech MX518 since 2006..I had two of them. When they stopped making them and my second MX518 started to have sticky buttons, I bought a G400s Which is the same mouse design with updated design and optical system. I will not use another mouse.
