I already posted about this topic a while ago, and that discussion helped me on how to define what I am looking for.
1.
I am looking for a way to backup my school works and personal files, in such a way that there would be a easily found backup of that data, that can be just popped into a fresh install.
I already have tried using the OneDrive, on my school account. The major problem with it is that it just moves all of my files, from different computers/clients to an undistributed mess, where there exists multiple different directories, which are similar, but not identical. I already have confirmed, from Microsoft’s support, that they know this problem, and they did not tell me that sort of feature would be added. And it also forces me to sync all of the documents folder, even thought I would prefer some of the stuff to be on my school account.
2. Protection from what
Something taking out one of my computers
This happened to me a couple of months past, when my brand new laptop had to be sent in for a battery change (Thanks HP), and I had to move back to my old laptop.
This would also be the same thing, if I have to reinstall the OS, knowing windows…
3. Why I don’t want to rely on the cloud
Althought I have internet almost everywhere I go, both in school and at home, I would prefer to keep local copies, when I have to take a longer trip things like that.
I was actually also looking at solutions, like the owncloud community,
And sorry, I think there are going to things I did not mention, since this is not my field of expertise. My experience is with troubleshooting windows 10 machines, etc and configuring and building consumer level computers etc. And ATM, I am also studying the first semester of CCNA.
