I went into the bios of my computer and selected my usb as boot order 1 then as boot 2 uefi (don't even know what that means) the usb as well and boot 3 is my hard drive i think. But whenever I restart it either does nothing, just a black screen forever, or it says "SELECT BOOT MEDIA IN SELECTED BOOT DEVICE AND PRESS A KEY" i don't know what to do. Could someone help me? my motherboard is an asrock b75m r2 and my usb has 8 gb of storage if that matters.
Thanks in advance!
Sounds like whatever your trying to boot to on your USB is corrupt or configured incorrectly. Is there anything on your HDD? Also I believe the UEFI settings vary depending on your motherboard. So that could be doing something funky as well. I would look it up in the manual that came with it. Or try using a CD or just another harddrive (one that you know works) as your primary.
If you are trying to boot from USB, the image was not written correctly.
If you are trying to boot from your hard drive, then take USB booting off of the list, or at least lower than your HDD.
Oh because I made the bootable usb using bootcamp and it stuffed up like 4 times in a row before I could get it to work. I'll download the windows7usb/dvd burner thing from windows and use my mums laptop(windows 7) to burn the iso to the usb. Then if that doesnt work I'll look at the manual, Thanks tonnes!!
