Seeking black metal!

Hey guys, I know some of you here know quite a lot of black metal bands (lol Logan, Twitch) so I'm here seeking help, I want to get more into this genre. Here are some bands I really like so it might direct you in a good direction :P Mörk Gryning, Gorgoroth, Abigail Williams, old Satyricon and some of their new stuff, Nokturnal Mortum, Abusivness, Enslaved (I consider them black metal) pretty much all of their stuff old and new, Antestor and Crimson Moonlight.

Windir (my favorite melodic black metal)

Cirith Gorgor

Elite (CD called "we rule the mountains")

Vesasia is awesome

Melechesh

Keep of Kalessin (one of my favorite bands of all time)...

let me know if you like any of those.

Immortal...

I already bought Melechesh a few months ago, it was like one of the only black metal album they had at the music store so...and I really like it, I like their sound, it's quite unique.

Keep of Kalessin, really like the music, not a big fan of the vocals but I still love the band.

Ok well I'll look in the other bands you named! Thanks.

@Div: Ya I know most of the "known" black metal band if you know what I mean :P Immortal (love em), Mayhem, Darkthrone, etc.

ok just checking, never sure if ppl skipped over the old stuff or not.

Venom, Bathory, 1349, Burzum, Deathspell Omega, old Therion and Zyklon-B are some others im sure you know.

Venom is what got me in more "extreme music" lol

but ya I actually didn't know about 1349, I'll check em out. I know for the others ;)

I was just doing a research about Varg Vykerness(Burzum ofc) earlier today for school rofl.

I like my coffee black just like my metal.

I Really digg Windir man! Cirith Gorgor is good too!

Can't find any Elite or Vesesia tho! Any link please? ;)

@Div: 1349! That shit's fucking good!

Only mainstream black metal i will admit to liking.

(this ofcourse being because cradle and dimmu are NOT black metal. though they do have a nice sound.)

I really like all that remains, and slipknot's old stuff. I really don't know any of the good black metal bands cuase i generally listen to TTEOTD, job for a cowboy, and black dahlia murder i define them as grindcore as my brother calls it and deathmetal. Lamb of god released a version of sacrement were they allow you to edit the tracks and remix them you should pick up a copy of that really cool to play around with.

if you like a little melody, then Sacramentum, Dissection, (early, like first two albums i think) Naglfar, and maybe Profundi (because i'm not sure what genre this band is).

Dissection is one of my favorite band, Storm of the Light's Bane is such an amazing album.

I'll look in the others you said.

>slipknot

Please die.

Please die.

not metal... almost as bad as trivium.... was reading terrorizer magazine... they interviewed Johan from Amon Amarth and asked him what he thought of them... he hadn't listened... so they played it... he said, "I don't know if it is good or bad, but it's not metal!"

anyway, if you like melodic try these bands:

Shining

Rotting Christ

Mörker

Draugnim (My favorite CD in 2008 probably)..

Darkestrah

Less melodic, modern black metal:

Profundi

The Legion (brutally fast)

Unlight

Svartsot (black death)

Black Horizons

Thanks man, much appreciated!

Even though this aint my topic, thanks for the suggestions Logan, I'm starting to like Black Metal now, I've never really listened to it before, been more of general metal fan.

btw, I agree with you about Slipknot, they're not really metal, I do really like them, but All Hope Is Gone...is a bit different to their old stuff.
