So my dad picked up a cheap decent security camera that is active viewing only.

He wants me to find a way to connect it too his old xp office pc so that it can record for a 24hr period then delete the recording as cheaply as possible. I know that their are cheap enough decent usb capture cards but it is the software that is the problem. anyone no of an free or cheap software that would do the job as simply as possible?

Otherwise, OBS's recording feature is a good platform to experiment with, will take some tweaking and a lot of drive space.
