i long while ago, on my sisters pc, i installed a HD7870.
everything was working fine except the second screen did not work. both DVI. i looked online and saw this thread:
http://forums.amd.com/game/messageview.cfm?catid=454&threadid=171412
wich suggested that i should downgrade to 13.12 driver.
i did that and both screens work now. the HD7870 doesnt gain anything from newer drivers so no problem there.
it worked fine with the older driver.
so now, i wanted to get a R9 290 for my system. 2 screens, both DVI.
this time windows automatically chose the 13.12 driver. and now i know why...
after updating to the newest driver version. my second screen went black, i didnt even have to reboot. it just went black.
i tried driver uninstaller in save mode to make sure that its not just a dirty update problem but nope. tried beta drivers, no luck. i found literally nothing to fix this issue.
someone suggestet to lower the power target, the clock speed and the vram speed, but im not gonna do that, i bought a card that is supposed to work in those speeds.
Is it not possible for AMD to fix this Problem, or ist it not happening to enough people for them to give a damn?
it is sad, because i really wanted to give AMD another try on the GPU side....
