I am building the new machine. This is my Current Build. As it is right now. It is subject to change until next week with the exception of the RAM, and the 2TB Hard drive. ( got a good deal on it, )
My Question is this. There is another sale the OCZ Z Series 1000M for 169.99 on NewEgg..
Now I have used SeaSonic in the past. They have not failed me yet, and I trust them. they make good power supplies. OCZ on the other hand I have heard some good things about them, but I have no experence with them. But If they are a good brand. I could use the 1000 watts for future up grades. Like grabbing a 2nd GPU or getting more Storage.
So does anyone have any experence with both OCZ?
And should I switch it up or stick with what I know?
Yeah. that is what I am feeling too. Stick with what I KNOW is good.
As for how much power used. I did use the eXtreme Power Supply Calculator, and it is coming in around 650 Watts. I am not sure if it is accurate.
I will be honest. Myself I am not the best when it comes to PSU and whats needed. I always went with the bigger is better route. If you have the extra power you don't have to worry. I am still a newb when it comes to them.
the Seasonic is better for the needs, better quality, but if you ever plan to crosfire 2 7970´s what i think you never would then the 1000W gold can be intressting. but for the system as it is now, the seasonic is more then enough power.
well I will be honest. I was tempted to Cross fire them in the future. as a possible option. Maybe some eyefinity for games, but right now no I will not be doing it.. but in the future maybe. I guess when I get to that bridge I can cross it then.
well if you can afford the seasonic 1050W gold you posted, then ofc its a good goal, its a bit expensive, but wenn you realy wanne go with crosfire on 7970´s and maybe do some overclocking then its realy a good thing, seasonic is ofc just quality. i did some re search about 2 7970´s in crossfire wenn playing metro2033, used about 705W and that was only wenn gaming, not realy maxed out the power of the cards, amd claims that a 7970 can use upto 300W power, per card (so that makes 600W) but you see in the real life its more, so like i said a 900/1000W psu can be safe, wenn you plan to crosfire 2 7970´s
