I see that Logan usually uses the seagate hard drives for pc builds but which one is better?
As long as it's 7200 RPM it doesn't matter. Just get the cheaper one in the TB flavor you like.
i don't like WD so i would say segate.
I've got both brands, had em for about four years in one desktop and realisticly, there is no diffrence. I got a 300 gig WD portable external from 2007 still running strong.
good for you... still won't change my mind. i don't like WD, never will.
Seagate all the way. Ive had too many WD drives fail on me for different reasons. Their portable drives are fragile and slow and their internal drives have been known to shatter. WD also give a pretty crappy warranty - although im not too sure on seagates warranty to be honest-. But thats because ive never had one fail so ive never needed to use the warranty :D
I have a portable seagate drive that just doesnt want to die. Ive dropped it many times, smashed the plastic cover and have now turned it into an internal drive. Its just a monster, whereas ive managed to break 2 WD drives within 6 months (one was internal and one was external)
I have a WD Blue, working just fine. Which ever is cheaper at the time you want to order.
Seagate a generaly nice but I findothing beats a WD Black. Never go for anything other than black in the WD series, Anything else should not be sold. I havent tried the red series, Maybe a little better but never go blue or green.
I use WD all the time, With over 10TB's of data, I need something reliable because backups are highly expencive and out of my price range. Not one has failed me yet of the black series. Green, Dont get ne started.
I have a 80 Gig Western Digital Caviar IDE drive I had since 2001, still using it to. Using it in my server and it still runs like a beast. I don't think it is going to let up for a while
seagate only gives one year warranty now since that tsunami/earthquake stuff.. i've had more issues with western digitals than seagates the past 10 years. i prefer seagate, not to mention they're cheaper.
