Seagate IronWolf vs Seagate IronWolf Pro

Looking at both the Seagate IronWolf and IronWolf Pro, it sounds like the only difference between the two is a longer warranty on the Pro. The marketing material makes it hard to tell the difference between the two drives. Does anyone if there are any other benefits for the Pro?

IronWolf is entry level NAS. IronWolf Pro is enterprise.

The Pro has better quality components inside it.

I think the IronWolf Pro is a literal wolf of iron to whom you entrust your data. He's very protective, and very professional. 10/10 would recommend to a friend.

It's always tough to tell with this stuff. It seems unnatural to just assume the components are of higher quality, but I suppose that's the case.

Seagate claim the IronWolf Pro has a higher workload rating, and that it's for larger arrays. Which i presume means less vibration made from the Pro drives.

So yeah, better components.

Yeah, I guess that makes sense. But does that really matter for the typical home user, running ZFS with a Raidz3 setup?

I'm sure, it would make drive loss less, likely but with purchasing extra drives once a month wouldn't I most likely be able to keep my data safe without the higher cost drive?

I can't imagine a home user would be able to push enough bandwidth to necessitate the Pro version. Your drives aren't going to be turning 24/7.
