Ok so I generally shop on newegg for my computer parts. I am putting together a budget gaming build and I need a cheap 7200rpm hdd. The seagate barracuda is very cheap for 1tb , and I am thinking about getting it. However there are so many bad reviews about drives failing that I am scared to buy it. What do you guys think?
All hard drives have a risk of failing. I've had my Barracuda 1TB for over a year now and it still runs just as fast as it was brand new, and trust me it's been through a year of abuse.
I always expect HDDs to fail. They are all equally weak. But I trust Western Digital Blues a little more than the ordinary Barracudas.
