With Google releasing a new build on the Chromecast (17250 if anyone wants to know the build number) and an update to the Chromecast app, you can know screen cast through the Chromecast. The kicker is that the app will only enable screen casting on certain devices and you need to be running Kitkat. Someone on XDA-Developers made an app that enables screen casting to every Android device http://forum.xda-developers.com/hardware-hacking/chromecast/experimental-enable-mirroring-device-t2812193 It works flawlessly on my totally modded Motorola Moto G. The kicker to this is that you need a rooted device.
I think this is great. I myself love Chromecast and definitely see myself using this.
