Screen recording on cpu

What is the best screen recording service that gives minimal lag, but records in 1080p (preferable) or 720p. Also, is an Intel i5-4690k good to record and play minecraft on. I am getting a asus gtx 760 direct II oc version, so idk if that will help with the answer.

If you'll be getting a 760 I highely recommend you use Nvidia shadowplay to record 1080p60fps. This will have very mininal performance hit as it's done on the gpu not the cpu.

If you use a cpu recorder you may have performance issues because minecraft and the recorder are both CPU hogs

If you are recording and then editing and adding audio and what not later, I'd say go with Shadowplay, but I did not like Shadowplay because it has almost no controls at all for stuff, especially for streaming.

If you are going to stream use Open Broadcaster Software. It can use the exact same feature that shadowplay uses to record your video using the video card. Plus OBS (even if you are not streaming) will let you do scenes and transitions, overlay graphics and stuff. Just way better all around software.

i have 4690k and gtx 970 and i use shadowplay, i play many latest games and record 1080p 60fps with no problems

Is nvidia shadowplay free?

Yes. It is in the Nvidia GeForce experience software.

I use the AMD Gaming Evolved GVR recording program. Its like the counterpart to shadowplay. Works pretty good, it has its problems, but its way better than having to pay for fraps.
