People that are in the Case Modding/building Category, where do I start?

I have done some research into this stuff and the most I have gotten as far as materials, design and building are some youtube videos where they use foam, wood, and even acrylic.

I would like to design a sleek full-ATX case and eventually build it, so... What do I do to begin?

Get some skills with a dremel.

Sketch out what you want your project to be.  Consider 3D modeling it as well,
