So, a project is coming up where we can read any book and after we read something we have to make a trailer for the book we read, who ever makes the best trailer will be in a movie theater with all the triple A movies. It's a fun little project but I just want to know if you guys can help me find any fun books to read. I'm into "mindfuck" type books. If you guys could help that would be awesome. When I am done I will link the clip if its not too embarrassing.
It might help if you give some examples of these "mindfuck" books that you like.
Well, I should not say "Mindfuck". More like "messed up" or distrubing books like The Clockwork Orange.
i once read a book.
try Cirque du freak series its 12 books
I heard they are for children, I mean I'll read them if they are goo but yeaaah.
Evil Genius by Catherine Jinks is a good read and could help you. It's not a "mindfuck" book at all, it's about a kid hacker. I read it when I was 10 and could never ever forget it for some reason. Good luck anyways!
Oh, that acually sounds up my ally. I'll look into it. Thanks man!
Try a Cormack McCarthy Book, he's written several books that have become movies already (All the Pretty Horses, The Road, No country for Old Men, The Sunset Limited. If it were me I'd go for Blood Meridian, seriously you will not be dissapointed.
Blood Meridian
The majority of the narrative follows a teenager referred to only as "the kid," with the bulk of the text devoted to his experiences with the Glanton gang, a historical group of scalp hunters who massacred Native Americans and others in the United States–Mexico borderlands from 1849 to 1850 for bounty, pleasure, and eventually out of sheer compulsion. The role of antagonist is gradually filled by Judge Holden, a large, intelligent man depicted as entirely devoid of body hair and philosophically emblematic of the eternal and all-encompassing nature of war.
Best of luck on whatever you will decide anf I would love to see what you come up with.
There actually rated for teens... (sorry if that sounds sassy its not meant to) But they are REALLY good one of my favorite book series.
That too sounds really awesome. The thing is, could I make a trailer at school with the content that is in the book? I mean this would be really fun to read as well make a trailer for, but I don't know if it would really be "school appropriate".
Yeah I wasn't taking that into much consideration. I would say if you lived in the proper region you could. Getting the characters to look period appropriate shouldn't be too hard. Personally I think given the political climate it will surely capture everyone's attention, even if you don't win people will remember it.
Define "mindfuck". Like somthing with a twist ending?
