Sata III - Sata II issue with Asus K laptop

Hello,

..I found this laptop(asus k70ic) some weeks ago, and now I finally got some cash and bought an SSD(MX100) 128GB. I installed the windows on it, w7 ultimate.I ghet the WEI score of an only 5,9. With his old HDD it was also 5.2. I wonder why.

I´ve read that I should note care much about WEI score numbers.. but I have this BUT why so low.

The problem it seems to be with the writing, the reads are ok, as you can see in the SSD. I had a Samsung evo on an another asus laptop and everything worked well. Thing is that, Samsung have frimware update for their SSD´s, now is it me or there are not updates for MX100. I´ve been looking on to their site but seems like this SSD in particular have not updates which is really odd to me.

On UserBenckmark, it says something like, ( The boot partition is located on a SATA 3.0 SSD but it's only operating at SATA 2.0 speeds. If this system has a SATA 3.0 port then plugging the boot drive into it will improve system performance. )

I also been looking around but couldn´t find anything that help me, so I decided now to post it here, maybe some more experienced poeple can help me. I would really really apreciate your time.

Are those speeds normal?!benchmark score

You're running at SATA II speeds. That laptop does not have SATA III ports. Read speeds are as what you'd expect but write speeds are bad, my gut tells me its your SATA controller is at fault because I would bet that if you were to run speed tests in another machine that has a SATA III port values would be a lot better.

These new MX100 drives are pretty darn awesome, I have yet to see one fail or arrive DOA but anything is possible.

Try hunting down an updated BIOS for the laptop, failing that live with the bad write speeds.
