I am thinking to reuse some old flash Disk from a ent. grade storage arrary. DIsk MOdel : mz-6sr2000/oc3
The normal sata connector does not work.
Can anyone let me know if there is any cage or cable that can make it work?
Something wendell have mentioned : Icydok or something else?
What can I look for to determine which cable or cage can work / compatibility.
This is a SAS drive and no connector will make it work on a mobo SATA port.
You will need a SAS controller. These are sometimes built into server motherboards, but more likely you would need an add-on card (a SAS HBA).
SAS HBAβs are available cheaply on eBay, but these are typically older generations that donβt really support SSDs (SAS2008). Issues are not really bandwidth, but these controllers donβt understand trim to keep the SSA in good shape over time.
