Sapphire 6970+i5 3470 or keep Q9650+6970

Hello,

Right now I have:

Q9650 3.0 Ghz

Sapphire 6970

8GB DDR2 RAM

I saw an Upgrade kit for 264 euros which contains:

GigaByte GA-B75M-D3V / i5-3470 3.2 Ghz / 8GB DDR3

Shall I upgrade, or keep the system I have now? Is there also a bottleneck in this system that will go away if I upgrade? Running at a 23 inch 1920x1080 Samsung S23B550VS monitor. Right now I'm playing Skyrim mostly.

Thank. :)

i would go with the new upgrade considering you play skyrim it does use some cpu performance and new board will also somewhat help your graphics card also i would look at the new benchmarks from logan you could get a nicer board and everything else for probably cheaper then that with amd and amd in his benchmarks are better for gaming

There are some AMD kits I found on the same site:

MSI 760GM-P23 (FX)/ FX6100 / 8GB - 183 euros

GigaByte GA-F2A75M-HD2/ A10-5800K/ 8GB - 205 euros

ASRock 970 Extreme3 / FX-8120 / 8 GB - 259 euros

Any best choice for the 6970?

Thanks in advance.

You should upgrade cause i had a q9450 and a gtx 460 SE and 4GB of 1066mhz ddr2 ram,and when i upgraded to my current fx-8150 sabertooth 990fx and 8gb of 1600mhz ddr3,i reused my gtx 460 se till i could afford a better card, and with the new parts and the 460 my fps in some games doubled.

It is because the gpu was being bottlenecked by the cpu, the i53470, the fx6100 or the 8120 would all remove the bottle neck.

the 5800k is good if you are running it with out a dedicated gpu.

yes and besides intel you can save alot of money on amd parts considering its meant for gaming

So the 5800k will also remove the bottleneck?

the fx 6300 is a bit better and newer.

buy the parts individually. and you want the 8350

I have a 750 watt powersupply. Whats the best board and ram?
