Samsung's RAPID mode causes GTA V to crash

I had GTA V installed on my 256 GB 840 Evo since it released on PC. Long loading times encouraged me to turn on Samsung's RAPID mode a few days ago. Everything was running fine, I was playing BF4 normally with no crashes or odd behavior. But when I started up GTA V the game would crash every time while in the loading screen, in both singleplayer and online. As you may already know when GTA crashes it tells you.

This wasn't the case with RAPID mode enabled. The program would simply close. The game doesn't even stutter. One second it's in the loading screen and the next it's at desktop. Using the Samsung Magician software I disabled RAPID mode and the game went back to operating normally.

I am wondering if anyone else has had a similar experience, or may know of a solution.

I too have an 840 Evo.

Turning on RAPID allocates 1GB of ram, so if you don't have enough ram that might be the issue. Also, the software version of the RAPID software.

I do not have this game, but i have had RAPID turned on since I built my computer 7 months ago and not once have I had an issue with the Samsung RAPID software with any of the 80 games in my library.

My system has 16 GB of 1600MHz R.A.M.

is there a way to Force it to suck up more ram for the cache?
cos im on 32gb and i dont use 90% of it

Unfortunately Samsung RAPID mode is limited to 1.5GB, with 32GB it might be worth looking into some RAMdisk software of some sort though if you do not use 90% of it.

I've not had an issue with this, maybe something is wrong with your RAPID? Try re-enabling now to see if it works, otherwise maybe a reinstall of Samsung Magician and/or GTA V is worth a try.

are you nvidia ?
because its come to my attention that all drivers since that gtav update have fucked off
im reverting back to 347.88 now actually brb after reboot

I have the 840 Evo as well and had a bunch of crashing errors however it was not my drives fault. Had an old piece of malware I thought I'd completely removed but apparently missed some.

Since then have had perfect stable gameplay.
