Samsung C34F791

For anyone looking to purchase this monitor, here are my 2 cents.

Most placed here in the UK are not in stock as of yet, they seem to be taking a long time to skip here over the Dec period. Luckily I was able to get hold of one a few days ago.

I have to say I have blown away with the quality of the monitor, from build to picture, even the speakers are impressive for monitor speakers.

I have not run into any issues, no dead pixels, no random standby's, all perfect so far. There is a little bit of black light bleed with the lights off but not enough to write home about and with the lights on there is zero bleed. Mine is a November build BTW.

Unfortunately, I am unable to test Freesync as I currently have Nvidia pushing this monitor.

I can feel and see the difference from 1GTG to 4GTG in gaming and after an hour of use, my eyes seem to have adjusted to the slight delay, however, nothing that would hinder my gaming.

For productivity, as I work on this PC I must be clear that it is fantastic if you work with multiple windows or even PC's because of the screen real estate. I used PIP with a MacBook Pro on the bottom corner of the screen and Windows covering the rest using symless's synergy to use one mouse and keyboard for multiple computers, works perfectly.

Setting aside the issues people have had with Freesync, this is an amazing monitor and would recommend it to anyone and if this monitor does not impress someone then they are asking for a hella lot.

Out of many high-end monitors I have purchased over the years, this is the only one so far I have genuinely been overly impressed by and keeping in mind that I have not adjusted any settings apart from setting response time to 'fastest'.

I fully appreciate the monitor from Microboard with the V3 panel is much cheaper than the Samsung's V4 panel, however, after paying the import charges for an extra £100 I could get this with a better warranty situation and better colours etc.

Addition: If you are having issues with flickering when Freesync Ulti Engine is turned on, download the drivers from here as it seems to have fixed the issue for most.

UPDATE: If you purchase this monitor, ensure you install the Sammy driver inclusive of the GFX driver. It increases the response time and now I am going to disregard my quote above in relation to feeling a difference from 1GTG to 4GTG, I can hardly tell the different with this installed. I must not have been running full spec without that driver.

I am really debating this monitor and the LG 24:10 monitor.

The backlight bleed is kind of an issue. With va panels, you do not get the same color accuracy as IPS, but you are supposed to have better black levels. If you have backlight bleed, then the black levels suffer.

I hope @wendell gets one of these monitors to test it out thoroughly.

Can you upload some pics of some blur buster tests? Pretty plz?

There's an LG 24:10 monitor?

Also nice write up OP

This monitor has the best BLB I have ever seen. Although it is there, it is only slightly visible on a black screen in the dark, in any other conditions, it is minimal.

This monitor is rated at 125% sRBG due to the Quantum Dot Tech and when Linus on YT used his calibration machine thingy on the Microboard, the colours was all over the place.

I would not consider the microboard anyways.

And just because a monitor can cover the color space does not necessarily mean that it is accurate. It mean that it can be accurate if you want to buy a color calibration tool.

I just purchased this monitor and noticed the black bars on the top, left, and right. I thought this was an issue or defect as the image should extend to the end. However, I noticed in your screenshot that it is exactly the same for you?

Is that not just the edge of the panel?
