Samsung 960 Pro Release?

So I'm over here getting antsy about a build that I have. As of today I have all the parts except for the OS SSD. My rationale there is that I was going to go with the Samsung 950 Pro, but since the 960 is coming out in "October" I decided to wait on it.

Now that everything else is sitting in a pile behind my desk, I'm wondering if it's worth it to wait on the new iteration of this drive. Is there a pattern as to when in the month Samsung usually releases things? If not I'm sure that the release date will be the day after I cave and order the 950.

Yes it's worth it if you look at the advertised specs, and It's release is sometime this month, Exact date? No idea but it's going to be very soon.

I know that im picking one up.

I'd wait for the reviews on throttling, if you think it might throttle pick up one of the Angel Wings PCIe heatsinks to prevent the rare throttle on larger workloads.

I'm definitely getting one $1,400 for the 2 terabyte version sounds pretty damn steep though

Alright so the OS, peripherals, and triple monitor stand all arrived today. Samsung better get their release game going!

I want to see what Intel's response to this is since for me the 600p series is more appealing. But these look interesting as well.

Something this low-power probably only has a small capacitor
it can clear its cache buffer in a couple seconds honestly the speed is redonkulous

If anyone is curious Newegg updated their site to allow pre-orders and it says the release date is October 30th...thanks Samsung!
