Safest EVGA 950 SC+ core clock OC?

Just upgraded to the 950 from an R7 260X. Just wondering what anyone's OC'd this card to. I've got it up to 1205 MHz which is 2MHz higher than than the FTW edition. Temps are around 70ish on load. Any suggestions? I mean obviously I can keep messing with it but was wondering at what clock rate might I start seeing instability? Not exactly using the best case for gaming but I do have an 80mm and a 40mm fan screwed into the side panel with an upgraded 92mm rear exhaust with a Coolermaster TX3 blowing directly on the card. http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16811147122&cm_re=Rosewill_ranger-_-11-147-122-_-Product

If you bought it recently you should just return it and get either a 960 or 380

As far as clock rate on it, that's just going to depend on your card

950's are typically overclockable to 1500-1600 mhz because they generate so little heat, however your milage may vary.

I thought about getting the 960 but with paying $139.99 plus a $10 MIR which will most likely be a VISA card which I'll probably use to buy a 4 pack of stout I figured it was a good deal. If I got the 380 which was considerably more I'd have to get a new PSU since I have the Antec VP-450. As far as performance goes the games I play are just fine with the 950. Tomb Raider is at a solid 60fps with normal shadows instead of ultra. Mortal Kombat X 60fps with shadows on medium. Metro 2033 & Last Light 60/high settings. Alien Isolation 60/maxed. Guild Wars 2 60/maxed. Had to tone down Pong though. Getting about 35 on ultra.

Wait your mail in rebate actually worked?

Lol I haven't sent it in yet. Yeah Sapphire tried some shifty bullshit to not honor my R7 260X so hopefully EVGA won't pull any shenanigans.

I tried Mortal Kombat X at 1400 MHz and it crashed. Bumped it down to 13 something and it crashed again. Have it at 1254 right now and was able to bump up shadows to high settings and maintain a solid 60.

you're talking base clock not boost clock right? because that would make it a 1450 boost which sounds much mroe reasonable.

yeah base clock

okay yeah so that makes it a 1450 boost which is decent, it's not amazing but it's decent. if you bump the voltage up you should be able to push it further, the FTW is fully capable of a balls to the walls overclock it's a good card.

I don't think I'm going to mess with the voltage now that Mortal Kombat is solid. Only game I'm concerned about is the new DOOM which won't be out until spring 2016 at the very least but I'm guessing it'll be pushed back and even when it does come out I never ever pre-order games so I'll wait for some bug fixes and probably sell the 950 and go for an amd card with a 600+ watt psu.
