Sacrificing performance for size?

Hey all seeking the expertise of the TS community for my first build. I am still in the initial stages of planning and am coming across my first question which will drive my build.

Namely, if I pursue a mini-itx build, I.e. Logan's epic itx build priced about $1300, will I be sacrificing performance for form factor? Will a comparable 1300 dollar build in micro-atx or mid size build out perform the mini?

no you dont really you just cant do crossfire or sli but that is out of the 1300 price range anyway.  the down side is that there are less motherboards to choose from and less cases but if you find one you like go for it.
