So I have the UEFI Bios. For the life of me I can not figure out how to get it to boot from DVD without going in and manually changing the settings.
I use a DVD to clone/restore my hard drive. Just be nice to go back to the old ways before the UEFI bios. When it would try to load from dvd and if no dvd in the drive, boots from the hard drive. Any Ideas???
Ya, i like bios better in ways. I quess that is the old school in me. Mostly hate Asus's software bloatware. How they can build such a decent mb and then bundle it with half ass software is beyond me.
All you need to do is change the boot order in the advanced mode of the UEFI. Set your optical drive ahead of your hard drive and it will boot that first before the hard drive. Hell, if that bios is anything like my ASUS bios it launches into an "EZ mode" with sensor bars and buttons to change the CPU performance. Well if it is like this then there should be a boot order at the bottom of the first bios screen that shows up. In this case you can slide the things you want to boot first (far left being first and far right being last). To get to advanced mode, btw, you need to go to the exit then click on the Advanced Mode option there you can find boot load options.
Refer to manual for more specifics. In fact just tape the manual to your butt or something; it is that useful.
I THINK you can change the UEFI Bios to a Legacy Bios. I am pretty sure you have to change to the Legacy to get it to boot like the Old Bios used to. Just not sure how to do it. I agree, I am NOT a fan of UEFI bios.
You can easaly chance the the boot order even in the begin screen, just move those icons you see by boot priority, in the screen below. click on them and just move them
Looks like its simply gonna be my only option, gonna have to go into the bios and manually change the boot order. Man I hate this bios. Love my asus motherboard.
If you change the boot priority in the ez and advanced uefi and it still doesn't boot from the optical drive something else is wrong not the Asus bios. Ive never had a problem with my Asus Crossfire board on regards to the uefi.
