Nothing wrong with that chip, just built a machine around it for dual GPU for my roommate. That said still a bad time to buy. Prices are BS and while Intel will run your power bill up either 7xxx will bright the hate or it will be a generation to hop back to Intel…if they’d drop all the stupid igp models. eCores are also a worry if you play specific games.
yeah i heard buildzoids opinion on e cores lol. he disables them while benchmarking.
Fine for email and such but the crashing and account banning are the issues for games…for now anyhow. In time it will get sorted.

rtx will become the new physx. i had experience with a asus 2070 it was so bad, rtx just crippled games. i want more resolution. fuck this downscale nonsense. i also think the 6700xt+ will age better then the rtx. nvm amd will abandon driver updates lol silly me
What angers me is the RTX3090 has the same resolution lock / cap as an old GTX1050/30. Meaning they kinda lock you from specific (read: my) use cases. Toss in the brutally limited outputs (unless you drop another $400 on BS breakouts) and it’s a ton of cash for something you’re better off buying 3 or 4 GTX 1050’s for…well back when you could buy those for a tad under MSRP anyhow. Now that garbage sells for the same price as a mid tier car…and a 3080/90 FUGETABOWTIT.
i never thought of that, that is horse shit. i ran the gt 1030 for dual monitor a bit ago but meh i run a 4k tv for web etc and 1440p games 250$ for the tv 50". overclocks to a big 63 fps
i do have a 28 4k uhd monitor too but i hate it. the best part is the base adjustments its also locked to 60 fps unless you down rez, @ 1080p it will 75 fps. but 4k is like 62 lol its some junk acer thing
This is why I’m all GIVE ME 5 PCIe SLOTS FOR GPUS! Also why I got a 5700G for my room mate. The APU runs her flanking screens so the GTX can run games unhindered by said flanking screens. Normally though you just toss in a few cheapo GPU’s to run aux screens and they are fine for playing a video on youtube or vlc, checking mail and all other basic draw functions and you have have the 1 decent GPU for gaming free to do what it does. In my workstation case my GPU’s get different 3D workloads so they can hold their own but not steal performance from each other.

10400f and gt 1030 gddr5 and more memory then she needs lol. but the 1030 bonus is the d5 version can run 4k vids no problem and she hadbeen playing crash 4 on it np like medium settings. its mostly a media box
Sadly over the course of all this insanity kinda makes me sad. So much hardware kicking around that’s still good and usable but at the same time not because it is just so power inefficient, loud and slow.
i just upgraded from a gtx 560 se and dont even feel i got an upgrade 1650 ko ultra now
