Ryzen 2700x KVM CPU Configuration

Hey everyone,

This past weekend I completely set up a Fedora 28 install with GPU Windows 10 passthrough. I have the whole thing set up super well, thanks to @wendell with his awesome guides. One small quirk, KVM thinks my CPU is a EPYC chip, and i can’t get Windows 10 to boot with that. I have to set it to “hypervisor default” for it to boot. Is there a better way for me to allow my Windows 10 VM to see the CPU as a Ryzen 2700x? Thanks!

Set the CPU type to ‘host’. In virt-manager the option is called ‘copy host configuration’ and can be found under CPU.

Lol one year later, thank you. I appreciate the input but I did manage to figure that out by this point.

Haha off by one. I was certain we were in 2018.
