RX Vega 64 Hashcat optimisation?

Hello everyone,

I have a Sapphire Nitro+ RX Vega 64 and I’m reconstructing a Wifi password with Hashcat v4.1.0 right now. I run Windows 10 Pro 1803 and the latest Adrenalin drivers. My hash rate for WPA2 is about 450MH/s. The hash rate doesn’t increase when I overclock the core or/and the HBM2. Taskmanager shows it only uses Compute 2 but not Compute 0, Compute 1 or Compute 3. I don’t know what those Compute units are and why only one is used but I wonder if I can increase my hash rate on WPA2.

hashcat64.exe -m 2500 -a3 ?d?d?d?d… -w 3

Kind regards, Tytan64

For everyone finding this in the future:

You can improve VEGAs WPA2 hash rate if you just get higher core clocks. It turns out you need to quit hashcat every time you make changes before hashcat recognizes more power. At max overclock I got up to 550MH/s but at the cost of 600W power draw from the wall. This not only rediculus but also harmful for non high end PSUs. Imho just leave the Vega 64 on balanced.

Cheers.
