Running Mavericks on PC

I want to create an app for iOS but from what I've read I have to use Xcode and only works on Mac OS. I found some videos on how to install mac os on VMware but for some reason it does not work. Can someone link me a tutorial on how to do it because all that i've found so far hasn't worked. Any information would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

This is a shot in the dark as I don't know which part isn't working. Do you get all the way through installation fine and then it wont boot or do issues occur earlier in the process.

I've had an earlier version of OS X running in virtualbox in ubuntu. I used this guide.

I recall having some trouble with the kernel options depending on your CPU, maybe you have a similar issue.

VM solutions were "kindly" requested to drop support for Mac OSX installs on non-apple parent PCs. You can install Snow Leopard and do a patch before the update, before the upgrade to Mavericks. Otherwise, anything later and if you get to the desktop, VM machines brick your ability to use the mouse and keyboard.

Otherwise, you can check your hardware compatibility and see if the process of setting up a hackintosh is possible.

Otherwise, gander round for a cheap 2nd hand Mac. Mac Mini's are great Macs to pick up for an iOS development machine.

Here's how: http://www.sysprobs.com/vmware-workstation-8-0-8-0-1-unlocker-to-run-mac-os-x-guest-in-windows-7

Basically, just patch the software using that method and you can install OSX like normal. It works for me. Keep in mind that the guest won't have the guest tools installed, so graphics drivers won't be available.

I hadn't and by the time I saw your response I bricked my laptop by dropping water all over it. I had recently bought it and spent a grand on it. :(

I'll give it a try once i get my laptop back up running.

I might have to pick one up if I'm unable to fix my lap top.

Thanks

well ive done this, with mac osx mountain lion on vmware. but it was realy a pain in the ass, because i have an AMD cpu and had to patch the kernel, tried manny diffrent tutorials for it,.

If you have a laptop with amd cpu, then mavericks will not work in vmware, because there is no patched amd kernel for it yet. only for Mountain lion. Best way to do this is downloading a vm-ware image. make sure that your cpu supports intel VT-x or if you have an amd  AMD-V. and that this is enabled in the bios.
