Just as the title says. i want your experienced opinions. is this an option or highly not recommended?
I would recommend running each service in a separate LXC container or VM on the same machine, I run all of my services in separate containers/VMs because it is much easier to troubleshoot problems when your only dealing with a single server configuration instead of many, it can also make management much easier and in some cases add an extra layer of security between each service.

I run a Web server and mail server on the same vm. There's no inherent problems with it but having them on separate machines may be more secure as both will be targets for script kiddies and bots. As long as you keep things up to date and have decent security there's no real issue with having both on the same system.
While there may not be any issues that arise from having those services on the same instance running together, it might be worth using separate vm's or similar just so maintenance on one doesn't potentially mean down-time for the other.
