Run Windows of graphiscard without cpu

Today I was told I could run Windows on 2 or more graphics cards, without a cpu installed in the MB. He said a cou would not be needed. I can´t believe that.

Unless I'm much mistaken, you have to have a CPU in your motherboard's socket for it to even POST.

you were talking to an idiot

graphics cards= parallel processing

cpus= serial processing

cpus arent good at gpu things and vice versa with some exceptions, OS's are not an exception

Nope, can't be done. Windows is targeted at x86 instructions. GPU's don't use x86 architecture, and don't use the instructions.

You can run linux of of an Intel Phi though.

I knew he was talking BS: Thanks about the parallel and serial processing, now I know the technical terms.

If you will excuse me now, I have to rub it in his face that we was wrong. muahaha:D

you know what parallel and serial mean right :P

Yes, I had basic programming class a few years ago and they talked about that. I found it really interesting. To bad that the teachers that I have now are overwhelmed by switching the source on the smart board.
