Run G-Police on Linux

Hi,

I am searching for a way to run the Game „G-Police“ on my Linux PC. It is really complicated. The Game is made for Win 95 and uses 3D Acceleration.

Those are the needed Specs:

AGP Enhanced Version Requires:

Processor: Intel ® Pentium® II, AGP Graphics Accelerator

OS: Windows 95

RAM: 32 Megs

Hard Drive: 2 Megs

CD ROM: 4X or better

Controller: Keyboard, Joystick(optional), SideWinder Force Feed Back Pro Joystick, SideWinder game pad

Joystick really is not optional, the keyboard controls suck.

I think this game is slightly to new for DosBox. Another Problem is Copy Protection. I could not get any kind of ISO to run (I made them from my game disks, have both a German and UK Version) inside a VM. I know the game worked on Windows 7 64Bit with a gt330m (basically on my old laptop, but I no longer have that machine). I had to use a NoCD Patch to even get it to start. VMware with Graphics Acceleration is really buggy (the game runs wayyyy to fast), do that is no option either.

Is there a chance that it may be able to run with Proton or Wine? The launcher starts using wine, but the game keeps asking for a disk (even with the noCD patch).

Any suggestions on how to get this running?

Well I think wine goes back to 95 yeah? Go get play on linux asd make a 95 prefix

With such an old game even on Windows you are probably gonna run into issues.

As play on linux was already suggested I’m gonna pick an alternative route, I see that there is a PS1 version of the game, maybe download that version and run an emulator.

PS1 Version is really not the same. Maximum view distance is about 5 meters. Controls are not as good and much, much more…

I will try to get help on the play on Linux forum though, thanks for the tip.
