Soooooooooooooo. The other day I visited my supplier to check the pricing of the 290 and the 290X. I shockingly found out that (he told me) there is no more 290X and its gonna be phased out soon (prolly out of stock and doesn't want to buy some more or maybe its true) because the 300 series is coming some time early next year and he told me that it's gonna be cheaper than the 290X.
So yea.
Whaaaaaaaaaat! 300 cheaper than the 290. Bullshit u tell lies
I'm going to assume launch price.
If it costs less than $300... well holy.. nVidia is going to eat shit.
Yea thats what I'm thinking as well.
I'm personally interested in GTX 960.
Thats good and all I was actually considering a gtx 970 but radeon is really innovating and pushing at the moment with mantle and freesync and its making me reconsider.
I generally prefer AMD because of their price/performance and I also don't like Nvidia for their proprietary BS, but this time I'm impressed with both performance and power efficiency of 970.
Plus it's what made the 290 and 290x so affordable.
