Router with bridging?

I’m using an old router right now in bridge mode which I have to basically use as a stronger WIFI receiver in my room for the relatively weak WIFI coming from the other side of the house. It then emits a separate WIFI network for me, while my roommates are on a different one. Well, I think the router is starting to go out, and the signal keeps cutting out. I’m thinking time for an upgrade.

Now, I don’t want to get a dedicated WIFI card for my PC because then my phone and old laptop can’t pick up on the WIFI across the house (but it does fine connecting to the bridge connecting). I also can’t run a cable to the modem,

Any recommendations on a router that would work for me? I do like the idea on being on my own WIFI network, independent of them, so I don’t just want a repeater and deal with all the issues that repeaters seem to bring.

I’d recommend a pair of devices so you don’t overlap channels with the other folks, as much as possible anyways.

You don’t /need/ the sxt (hAP ac² can create multiple virtual wifi interfaces on the same radio), but having another radio will take a little of that airtime strain away.

Why not go with a USG from Ubiquiti and an access point (AP AC Lite for instance) where you create 2 Wifi (1 for you, 1 for the other household members). With the USG, you can also create Vlan which allows you to separate the two networks, meaning they can’t access your devices.

The op has WiFi upstream. UAPs can’t help with that
