Hey, I noticed my DrayTek Vigor2766 has 4 pins on the board labeled “console”, with one of them being VCC. Does anyone have some information on what exactly they are, as well as the pinout?
I plan to add a small fan on the inside to improve temperatures and figured it would be convenient to take the power for that from those headers.

I think this is a TTL serial header. So vcc is at 3.3V, not enough for a fan.
Try to locate either 12v from the power supply or 5v from usb.
According to this page. You should have a 12v power supply and usb on the board. If you are not afraid of soldering take the 12v, otherwise buy one of the usb fans of amazon.
Thanks, from what I can read online, it’s possible it can be 5V too? I guess I’ll have to check it with a multimeter.
I wouldn’t mind soldering, but it would be nicer to use the already existing headers, of course.
It’ll be 3.3, 5, or (less likely) 12 volts.
But minimal amperage so do not plug a fan in there.
Did some googling and you might only get 5 to 10 mA of power.
I would not risk it. If you dont mind soldering, go for the 12v on the power supply. Safest bet.
Makes sense, thanks. I ended up using the external USB connector for power, since I realized the fans wouldn’t fit well inside anyway.

With that attention to detail on the wires, I take you got some fan-grills on order to prevent fingers or pets from interfering? 
Depending on vent-holes in the router, you could also try having one fan exhaust from the case.

I was thinking about having one of them be exhaust, but I don’t have a good way to force an air path that makes sense and the case is full of holes anyway, so air will find its way out.
Regardless, the temps have definitely improved. Before, the case used to be warm to the touch, but now it’s nice and cool.
