Rooting Droid DNA

I have the Droid DNA and decided that I want to root it, however there is very little documentation and the info that I did find is outdated. I was wondering if anyone here has done it recently or knows of places with an up to date guide.

Consider Moonshine. There are videos on Youtube that will explain to you how to properly source and install the correct drivers, how to install ADB and Fastboot and also how to install the Android SDK that is relevant to you. After doing all of that, you can run Moonshine, which works on almost all iterations of the firmware that I've run across, personally. After that, you can have fun installing whatever custom ROM you like, I recommend checking out CarbonROM, since it's based on CyanogenMod, but provides for somewhat more customization.

Thanks guys, I ended up using rumrunner because moonshine wouldn't work, and I have TWRP installed, so do I just flash a custom ROM now? I used a root checker and it said I do not have root access.

The only reason why Moonshine wouldn't work is because you didn't install the necessary components correctly, or because your phone did something stupid while moonshine was running. I'd try watching a few youtube videos and fixing your installation and trying again. It's most likely that you don't have adb.exe and fastboot.exe installed for system-wide use on your computer. There are a few videos that describe how to properly install them so that you can use them at all times. It's quite the pain, and a rather large installation procedure, but what can you expect from Verizon.

just download superSU and install it through the recovery.

On the tutorials being outdated. Because the phones hardware almost never changes over the models life time and the software does little to stop exploits "outdated" tutorials often work as good as day one.

Perfect examples are the Samsung phones and the Odin software, still works perfectly and is always getting better and it is from around the time of the Galaxy S2 or possibly before. Of course Odin is in some way tied to Samsung themselves but the point stands.

Alright, I'm rooted now and everything works. Is there any cool stuff you guys would recommend? Thanks for the help.
