So there's this quote, which sounds good

Take-Two has agreed that it generally will not take legal action against third-party projects involving Rockstar’s PC games that are single-player, non-commercial, and respect the intellectual property (IP) rights of third parties.

Followed by this one

Take-Two reserves the right to object to any third-party project, or to revise, revoke and/or withdraw this statement at any time in their own discretion. This statement does not constitute a waiver of any rights that Take-Two may have with respect to third-party projects.

To me that sounds an awful lot like Take-Two could just void the agreement at any time for any reason if they so desired.

I mean, thats pretty standard practice with legal jargon. Technically yes, they can but probably wont. The public outcry was obviously enough for them to reconsider their position. To double back now would basically be a death sentence. Since the release of this statement, OpenIV has received updates...though it hasnt officially come out with a statement of its own. For now it seems things have been righted.

Rockstar fanboyism. And Take Two has not yet responded at all. Public apologies are in order.

Personally I'd consider it settled for the tip of a pinky finger.

Well, in any case, I hope modding can continue in single player mode.

Mods breathe new life into otherwise dead games. It may even draw people in to buy your game if they hadn't already considered doing so. Why take away something that would make people wanna play/buy your game?
