Roccat?

I've been looking around for a christmas gift for my brother and he really wants a new mouse. So I found these ROCCAT brand mice and was just wondering if anyone had any experience with them and if they're actually as good as they look? Cause they look amazing (It's called the kone or something...)

Personally I'd go Steelseries. There is also logitech G series I think. Some might go Razer but seeing the latest fiasco with the whole being online to use/get full functionality of the mouse thing I wouldn't trust 'em. As for the ROCCAT kone I'm not sure personally but reviewers claim that they are solid though.

Thanks, yeah normaly I would go for those, but my brother likes having something that his friends don't, so I thought if they're good, why not?

Roccat are supposed to be pretty good. If you are looking for a cheaper, very easy to use mouse. I recommend the Razer Deathadder. Very simple mouse that works very well.

Well I asked around and heard of a guy whose Roccat kone is now 4 years old and the only problem he's had so far is that the middle mouse button has broken. Is 4 years, a long time for a mouse to survive? supposedly he plays alot of games... Also, It seems like they have alot of customization (in button capabilities) options. Not sure if that sentence makes sense, but it's 6AM here and I haven't slept so bear with me...

I have the Roccat Kova+ mouse. I've been using it for about 2 months so I cannot vouch for how long it will last, but it's a good mouse. It's quite small though so the Kone might be a better choice if he has large hands or just use a palm grip. And yes the software that comes with the Roccat mice gives a ton of customization options. The only complaint I have is that when you change some setting it takes almost 30 seconds before it's actually applied.

But yeah it's my first Roccat mouse and I like it. Awesome for aiming due its lightness.

I have a 5 ear old Roccat Kone and it works perfectly but it has a rubber coating on it which peeled away and now it looks like it's been to hell and back. Other tham the aesthetics, the mouse works flawlessly. And in the 5 years I've had it, I've done a fair amount of gaming and even a few LAN parties.

I have moved on to a Logitech G700 now and the Kone is a backup. If they made a wireless Kone (Kone ++ maybe), I would get it in a heartbeat.

ah, yeah I dislike wireless mice... I hate having to replace batteries...
