I need to rip a windows ISO off of a disk so that I can put windows 8.1 on my cd driverless machine. Also if I rip an ISO off my win 8.1 disk will I still b able to use the disk if the usb method does not work? I need a good program to rip an ISO file off of the windows disk
ImgBurn if I remember correctly can do this.
However if you need to make a USB boot stick to install windows you do not need to actually rip the ISO file. Just follow this: LINK (same method for doing this on Win 7)
NOTE: Instead of the steps that say to mount the ISO, just put the CD/DVD into the disk drive and use its system address letter.
And No, ripping a CD is just the term. It does not remove/destroy the disk in anyway.
