Review my First Gaming PC Build

If you guys could somehow lower this by $100, it'll be much appreciated. I've also decided to go with FX 8350 instead of the i5 3750K. I have 16gb of RAM because I'll be doing some video editing and rendering.

Nice build, should do well for your tasks :)

Very nice build indeed.

Thanks guys. Is 650W a big enough PSU especially if I'm going to be OC'ing?

Yes, should be OK, do remember that your CPU will use around 250 watts with a high OC, then combined the GPU will go 300+ with a large OC...

Should I purchase a 750W instead just to be safe? Or is it unneccessary? I probably won't be doing extremely high OC'ing anyway.

650w will suffice, but to go multi-GPU down the road, 850 watts will be needed imo.

Thanks. Do you know any comparable motherboards that could be cheaper than the Sabertooth? Or should I just stick with the Sabertooth?

MSI 990FXA-GD80 (much better board)

http://www.newegg.com/Product/Product.aspx?Item=N82E16813130649&Tpk=990FXA-GD80

Unfourtunately, that's not available from the shop that I'm purchasing my parts from (Centrecom). I believe the only 990FX AM3+ motherboards available is the my current Sabertooth board and the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3 Mainboard - AM3+

Also, is 16gb an overkill even if I'm going to be doing video editing and rendering?

16GB is way overkill, i use 8GB for all of your tasks, and never fill it all up....

Stick to your motherboard, it is plenty (shame the MSI is not available for you)

I'm actually considering taking the Gigabyte GA-990FXA-D3 Mainboard - AM3+ instead of the Sabertooth. Thoughts? Also, anyone else know some cheaper full modular bronze PSUs or is my Corsair HX's a good price?

I know how you can save $100 :)

thepiratebay Has windows :)

Very nice, but do go for MSi 7970 or Asus...

Sapphire is been known to ruin some series of the 7xxx generation and a manufacturer who gives only 2 years of warrnty is not looking goog in my eyes...

I would recomend Cooler Master Storm Sentinel Advance 2 mouse as best for bang mouse in the world.

Has fantastic ergonomy (specially if you have big hands) and the best laser sensor in the world curently, and its very cheap...

Also have you concidered a monitor with an IPS panel?

What is your overall budget anyway?

For my situation at the moment, I can only purchase my GPU at PCCG Australia. I found a 7970 MSi (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19124) for about $30 cheaper than the Sapphire from that store, but I also find an ASUS (http://www.pccasegear.com/index.php?main_page=product_info&products_id=19728) which is about $30 more than the Sapphire.

Which would you recommend? It seems that the Sapphire looks like a good deal for the price, but I might be able to fit the ASUS into my budget if I go with the Gigabyte UD3 AM3+ Motherboard (which I'm not sure of yet).

I wouldn't really go for razer products but I heard very good things about that DeathAdder so I'll be sticking to that. My overall budget is about: $1,900 and I've never considered an IPS panel monitor, what's the difference? Is it cheaper too?

Also, I still need help picking which motherboard I should go with! I've decided also to just stick to my PSU.

Asus all the way...

Before I give you my final advice, tell me can you find this monitor http://amzn.com/B009V2PERM  in your country? Or can you order it in any way?

Unfourtunately, it isn't and there is no possible way for me to order it.

 http://www.ebay.com.au/itm/HDMI-New-ACHIEVA-ShiMian-QH270-IPSMS-27-LED-2560X1440-QHD-Computer-Monitor-/140748023091?pt=AU_comp_monitor&hash=item20c53c6533       ;)

Anyway here is my proposition (with the monitor above, which is a must have) http://tinyurl.com/b4krfce

If you want save money go for the 7950, OC-ing it you will likely pass 7970 even OC-ed...

You can manage the rest...

Personally, I'd suggest a Headset over speakers, you could cut down on the keyboard, there are really good ones from logitech and gigabyte foraround $50-$80, then spend the extra money on on a nice headset, but that's just my opinion, very nice build though! But I'd recommend an ASUS 7970, ASUS is very reliable when it comes to motherboards and graphics cards. Good luck with the build!

Don't ever buy shitty GAYMEN HEADSETs, just buy some nice headphones and a mic( ATH M50's + zalman mic = GOD TIER)
