X170?! Nay I say; It is the C236 chipset. More importantly, the biggest feature on this motherboard is that it combines the Intel Alpine Ridge USB3.1 type C + Thunderbolt 3
The C236 chipset lets you run an i5/i7 or Xeon, and Apline Ridge combines USB3.1 and Thunderbolt 3.
After computex and the plurality of peripherals I can tell you I'm super excited about Thunderbolt 3. I only mention it about 50 times!

No nic teaming / lacp sad.
C236 also supports Sli lol ☺
This is realy a cool board, i looked at it a while ago.
Very feuture rich, and if you trow something like a Xeon E3-1230-V5 or the 1240-V5,
then you still have a very decent setup for both gaming, and some workstation workloads.
@wendell does this board supports overclocking aswell?
That would be interesting.
Is that Desert MARPAT on there i see? Kreygasm
The ASRock c232 fatality board can OC xeons as well so there's an option there as well. Nice to see that there are ways to have i7 type cpus without breaking the bank
Liked what I saw so I am building one. Boxes made by robots delivered to my desk yesterday.
Ill keep you posted.
