Ok so one of my laptop was running slow and then my dad had the great Idea to upgrade it to windows 8! Later that month the laptop broke and he chucked it out ( A not so good idea looking back on it :( ) I now am building my first PC and was wondering if I could reuse the windows 8 or do I have to buy a new one?

Wait I double checked. It's a retail copy :)
if it's a retail i believe (insert disclaimers) that microsoft will allow it to be installed and reactivated with a call to them, i believe as long as the other installation never turns on they will let it be reactivated on a different machine
