Hi guys,
I'm planning on putting a custom loop into my system in the near future and retiring my H100i. However, to help save a bit of cash, and because I absolutely LOVE the look of them, I was planning on removing the pump, tubing and rad from my H100i, and reusing the waterblock in the custom loop, along with some XSPC Raystorm GPU blocks and Alphacool NexXxos full copper rads. From what few posts I've seen of others considering this, they were always shouted down because the difficulty and lowered performance vs just buying another block. That said, I really do want to do this, and difficulty and lowered performance are not an issue, but I'd like a bit of advice on it because I'd rather do it properly.
Firstly, am I likely to run into any issues of mixing metals in the system, and having corrosion as a result? This is something I've never understood properly, so some clarification would be great.
Secondly, I imagine tearing it down and removing the pump will likely not affect the lighting or integrated fan controller. Am I correct in assuming that they'll be isolated systems?
Last of all, what would be my best method of attaching tubing to the block. From what I can see around, they use a proprietary connector. Would stretching some tubing over the barbs and zip-tying them for safety be the best method of doing this?
Would really appreciate some help here guys, I've been looking for months to try to find successful attempts, but haven't been able to find anything much useful unfortunately. What do you think?
Cheers in advance :)
