That familiar 0xFFFFFFEC
It could get interesting if it goes to court.

I loled hard.
rofl. Maybe this is an idea I could start up. I'll make a casino and everytime someone wins, I'll have the bouncer tell them the machine has malfunctioned :3

Just looked this up.
Last august
BBC is slow as tar on the uptake.
Video slot machines are rated as to the amount of possible payout. The ones with largest possible payout are few and clearly marked. In this case, this women was in a bank of 6000 to 10000 dollars max payout slots. In other words, an obvious bugged machine. Now if this had been on a machine that was part of their Mega slots, she would have a leg to stand on. You can't play the penny slots and win millions of dollars. Not how it works.
tar.. or tarballing?
It still says that she won. The non-regulars at a casino don't necessarily have this knowledge (i.e. it's the first time hearing of this as well, not that it counts for anything). Maybe the casino has some terms and conditions somewhere that you implicitely agree to when entering or playing on a machine, and maybe that could help. But if not she kinda has a case there... Casino probably has better lawyers tho.
Okay so it is an obvious bug. And the machine says in cases of malfunction and rewards are void.
I take it this does not happen often and would save them some heartache to know which machines do this and avoid situation exactly like this one. They should just give her what ever the maximum regular payout if that machine is. $1.85 is a bit stingy. If only for bringing the error to their attention, it would probably coast as much of the payout to fight it in court.
