Retina Display nvidia suround

Hey logan wendell, and, pistol i have a question for you about the retina display hack you guys did. at the end of the video you guys tosed around the idea of slapping together 3 retina displays so you could play in nvidia suround or (if your in the amd boat) amd eyefinity. i recently have become infatuated with this idea and might just start building it. i just have 2 quetions for you guys, 1. what kind of graphics card would you guys use. 2) how did you power the displays? i checked the web site were you got the board from for the display and it had very little info on it.

Thanks Brendan from new york.

You're driving triple 2048x1536 so basically either 4608x2048 or 6144x1536.

That's pushing about 9.5 megapixels. for comparison standard eyefinity is about 6.2 megapixels and standard fullhd is about 2. (And what logan ran with triple 2560x1440 was about 11 megapixels.)

Going by their videos, i'd say dual 7950 or Single 780 for a somewhat smooth gaming experience.

Maybe wait for Hawaii XT before doing this - they'll use 20nm silicon which roughly translates to more stuff on the chip.

I do have to say though - that does sound horribly impractical.
