Retina display gaming?

Woah. I was wondering the other day, if one really couldn't discern the pixels on a "Retina" display such as the Macbook Pro at normal operating distances, does that mean there would be no need for anti-aliasing? 0_o since each individual pixel is so sharp that if the game is running at the max retina resolution (2880*1800) then our eyes wouldn't even notice the aliasing of individual pixels?

Yes SHD has reduced the needs to AA, however retina has horrible refresh rates and is terrible for gaming.

Higher resolution = harder on GPU. Regardless of anti-aliasing. It's hard to discern pixels on a 17 inch 1080p screen unless your up close, but at that point you are too close.
