Hi all,
I’m trying to boot Proxmox 7.4 on my machine, and I’m getting the following kernel panic:

I tried booting Arch Linux to see if this was an Arch Linux specific issue, and I got the same kernel panic.
I was able to get this to successfully boot by setting the kernel parameter acpi=off
, but this is undesirable as it means that only one of my cores is active. I saw a page in the Ubuntu Wiki that recommended booting with acpi=ht
. That too failed, and that Wiki article suggested that there’s an issue with the ACPI or SMP code in the Linux kernel. I tried disabling SMP in the UEFI, but that continued to panic. There have also been no BIOS updates released for this board since the motherboard was released. I have no idea how to proceed; does anyone have any ideas? Does anyone have any experience with the ASRock Rack B550D4-4L motherboard?
